Program: Europe at Work
The Danish Presidency will work for a strong European economy, revitalized growth in the EU and for a stronger EU that effectively addresses the problems that occupy Europe's citizens and enterprises on a daily basis.
Main focus areas
- A responsible Europe - pursuing a responsible policy, ensuring sustainable public finances and implementing the necessary structural reforms; the goal - to conclude the negotiations on the Multiannual Financial Framework by the end of 2012.
- A dynamic Europe - need for sustainable Single Market that creates jobs and stability as well as prosperity for Europeans and companies in the EU; strengthening of education, research, innovation, gender equality and the European labour market.
- A green Europe - necessity to promote the transition to a green economy and to enhance its focus on sustainability.
- A safe Europe - joint efforts and strong European cooperation (in security, trade, development).
