Martin Bojar jedním z nejvýznamějších a nejváženějších lékařů v České republice. Po absolutoriu pracoval postupně jako sekundární lékař v psychiatrické léčebně KÚNZ v Kosmonosích, jako lékař neurologické kliniky fakultní nemocnice v Praze – Motole, jako odborný asistent neurologické kliniky FDL UK, kde působil jako externí učitel a jako zástupce přednosty Neurologické kliniky FN Motol. V roce 1990 se na dva roky stává ministrem zdravotnictví ČR. Poté zastává funkci přednosty Neurologické kliniky FN Motol a děkana 2. LF UK Praha. Byl členem výboru IRCT v Kodani, členem redakční rady Jama-CS, Journal of Medical Ethics, Česká a slovenská neurologie a neurochirurgie a od roku 1992 byl činný v několika charitativních a edukativně zaměřených nadacích. Od roku 1993 je rovněž členem Čestné rady Společnosti pro trvale udržitelný život, členem správní rady Nadace Charty 77 a členem správní rady Konta Bariéry.

Martin Bojar is one of the Czech Republic’s most prominent and esteemed physicians. He worked as a regular clinical neurologist until December 1989. In the spring of 1989, he began taking part in the unofficial social activities of the Intelligentsia Circle. After November 1989, he was active in the Prague Health-Workers’ Forum and the Group for Health Care Reform. After the 1990 elections he was appointed as Czech Health Minister representing the Civic Forum. He held the position until autumn 1992 when he returned to the neurological clinic at the Motol Hospital in Prague. He is Professor of neurology in the Charles University Medical Faculty.
